In 1954, Ansel Adams took a number of pictures at Salz Tannery in Santa Cruz, CA. Long out of business, plans for Salz Tannery site are to turn it into an artists' development.

Ansel Adams took one particular photograph that featured a building with a rectangular front in the background. That building appears to be facing River Street/Highway 9 in Santa Cruz. Back in the 1950s, Salz had buildings on both sides of the Highway and used forklifts to move hides back and forth. Check out the two skylights to the left of the rectangular front along the roof line in both photos to confirm the match.
