Lancaster and Morecambe Model Engineering Society (LMMES) operate a miniature railway at a site just north of Carnforth. It has a short circular track and offers free rides on Sundays and Bank Holidays between Easter and October.

Cinderbarrow is a reclaimed site now used as a picnic place and start point for local walks. It is also home to the LMMES railway. The railway is professionally presented and maintained and is a popular attraction on Sundays in the season.
There are several sidings and multiple tracks at the station. Twin tracks lead around the Cinderbarrow site in a circular fashion. It includes a level crossing where the road into the car park crosses the tracks, and a pedestrian crossing for a footpath.
The standard west coast main line runs past the site on the way to Scotland. The disused Lancaster Canal is also very close by.
