Advent is a small parish on Cornwall's Bodmin Moor.
The church is near Tresinney, a mile or so from Camelford.
The Church is dedicated to St Adwena. It was constucted in the Early English and Perpendicular styles with a three stage, unbuttressed tower with 8 pinnacles. A lot of churches in Cornwall appear to have pinnacles. Parts of the church date back to the 13th century. Above the arch of the South entrance is an interesting sundial. It was nice being there on a sunny morning as we could check our watches with the sundial. The sundial was correct needless to say.
Advent church is a grade 1 listed building
Closeby are rare archaeological remains - a Bronze Age triple round barrow believed to date from pre 1000 BC.
