The news story was the lead news story on all the morning national new programs. A gunman came into the meeting and shouted "Shoot the mayor!" He fired at the people in the room he killed three city official and two police officers. The gun man was killed by police while trying to leave the scene. The mayor and one other person were wounded by gun fire.
