WUTV has been the local Fox affiliate in Buffalo for nearly 20 years. It's offices are located in north Buffalo in a business park.

WUTV began operations in Buffalo in 1970 and operated as an independent channel for 20 years. Through a series of purchases and network affiliation swapping, WUTV became the local Fox affiliate in June 1990. Between 1995-1997, the station also carried a secondary affiliation with UPN (now CW). The station is currently owned by Sinclair Broadcasting.
It is also interesting to note that due to Buffalo's location in relation to Canada and because of the high powered transmitter, a majority of the commercial advertising during syndicated programming is largely of Canadian origin. Also interesting is that this is the largest Fox affiliate in the country that does not have a locally produced news program. It will, on occasion, broadcast Fox News Channel for important national news.
