Pioneer Crossing Park - Shawnee, Kansas - Municipal Parks and Plazas on Waymarking.com

Pioneer Crossing Park is on the site of reclaimed land from failed used car lots. The city has turned this space into a little corner of tranquility amist the bustle of suburbia. Within the park, are markers explaining the history of the area. Also, there is a memorial to the pioneers that used the Santa Fe Trail. This memorial is also a part reclamation project. Most of it was actually part of a Kansas Visitor's Center that was torn down in Olathe, Kansas and reused here. They added the bronze work and the free-standing figures.
