It is an actual milestone along the A5 as it goes through Milton Keynes. This one is in very good condition and consists of a metal plate on a stone plinth. It is located on a very busy route which has existed since Roman times as Watling Street was an original Roman Road. Now, it traverses many villages, towns and scenic overlooks on its way to Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey, North Wales.
