Rocky River Vineyards is one of the newer wineries in North Carolina opening in August 2007. The small family owned and operated winery features locally grown muscadine grapes and a few varietal grapes purchased in Arkansas. The intimate tasting room has the owner's family members serving as hosts. There is a small patio overlooking the vineyard that is perfect for conversation and a glass of wine. You might even see a few wild turkeys if you are patient. The owner boasts of local products. The wine label has a butterfly motif from a local artist's painting. The original painting used to hang in the owner's dining room, now it hangs in the tasting room. Charming new vineyard!
