This compass rose is on the top of a scenic overlook at north end of the west dam of Diamond Valley Lake. The center of the compass rose contains a MWDSC bench mark, also a waymark.
Access is from Hwy 79 south of Domenigoni Parkway. Follow the MWD signs to the Clayton A Record, JR Viewpoint.
Access is limited to Fridays to Mondays 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and you will need to show ID to gain access. There is no fee charged. Park in the parking lot and maybe get some informational brochures. Porta potties are available in the parking lot.
Then take the paved trail to the top of the hill, it's only a couple of hundred yards.
