The landmark Heller House was constructed for a Chicago Meatpacker. While one of the tallest of Wright's early designs, the Heller house is given a horizontal character by the use of yellow Roman brick on the lower walls and tapestry brick, alternating horizontal bands of alternating colored brick, on the second and third storeys. The most striking exterior feature may be the Richard Bock designed sculpted figures and organic ornamentation. The building sits sideways on its narrow lot with the entrance on the south.
