The village of Cordova is home to the oldest continously operating Drag strip in the country, Cordova Dragway Park, which opened in the early 1940's, and has operated, without closure, ever since. The track generates approximately half a million dollars worth of revenue to the town during the last weekend in August, when the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) hosts their annual World Series of Drag Racing.
