This building was built by attorney Alan Bates in 1853 and extensively remodeled in 1900. It is located at 13 North Main St in Janesville, WI and is a contributing building to the North Main St Historic District.

The second story bay window is of pressed metal and dates from the 1900 remodeling. Two cast iron columns remain from the original 1853 building.
