Sarah B. Lucas lived at the corner of Mountain Avenue and Plainfield Avenue for many years. THe Lucas family owned in the l900's five acres of land and the Lucas famiily lived there for many years.

In the Spring of l961 the Presbytery of Morris and Orange of the Presbyterian Church saw a need for a Presbyterian Church in this area, and with the help of Central Presbyterian Church in Summit, New Jersey, the five acres of land were purchased from Sarah B. Lucas.
Sarah B Lucas permitted the congregation to use her house on the property at 576 Plainfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights, Union County, New Jersey 07922 for the office and other activies until the Westminster Presbyterian Church was finished and the opening Ceremony was help on Oct l4, l965.

Sarah B. Lucas's house is on the NorthWest Corner of this intersection, and her five acres were on the North Eastern Section of this corner, today in 2005
The Lucas family had place a big metal " L" for their name on the side of the chimney and that can be seen there stil , even today.
