This watermill was first mentioned in history in 1326. She belonged to the "Huys tot Baerlo" (Castle D'erp) The current building dates from the beginning of the 17th cty and is possibly build by Sybert III van Eyll. The mill was operational until 1960. In 1850 the mill was transformed from oil mill to drainage mill. From 1900 she served as a grainmill again. The mill was restored in 1976 after it was bought by the county.

The mill is operational for monumental viewing every saterday morning from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
