Rising 10 stories above Burnham Park and Lake Michigan, the East Park Towers contains 135 apartments. William P. Doerr, the architect, used a curving ‘U’ shape to accommodate the building on its pie-shaped lot in 1923.

Virtually matching the Hotel del Prado across the street, Doerr chose a dark red brick to contrast with the buff terra cotta trim of the building. Instead of Art Deco, Doerr designed the building in a Mission Revival style. The two wings are asymmetrical; the southern wing contains offset balconies. The style is most evident on the parapet.
