William Matlack left Cropwell Bishop, Nottingham, England in 1675 and founded what became West Jersey. Most of West Jersey became what today is known as Burlington County. The stone sits in the middle of what was his property. Now it is a nice neighborhood between 2 houses . They did not give any extra property to Mr. Matlack and his familys gravesite than they had too.
He was born in 1648 and died December 10, 1720. His wife Mary Hancock Matlack was born 1666 in Brayles, Warwicks, England and died January 1728/29.
They had nine children. Visit my Rootsweb family tree for more on this family.
