Dublin Zoo is set in the grounds of the Phoenix Park, which also houses the residence of the President of Ireland and the US Ambassador. It was founded in 1830 and initially stocked with Animals from London.

In recent years the zoo was substantially expanded with the opening of the African Plains.

When visiting the zoo you might like to do "Z is for Zoo", GC11FDB. This is a micro sized cache near the old entrance.
