The museum was dedicated in 1977. It's a one room schoolhouse with over 1000 square feet in area. It's supposed to represent a typical schoolhouse in the Sacramento Valley. It's based on the Cañon School, a in Brooks (in the Capay Valley, Yolo County) in 1884.
