This benchmark is within 40' of the front door of Reed's Dept. Store in Starkville, MS. This building used to be the South Central Bell Phone Co. building back in the 1960's. Mark is flush with the ground, mounted in concrete, very clearly marked, in excellent consition. Mark is "5 KED 1963, U.S. Dept. Of Interior Geological Survey".
