El cura de la localidad cántabra de Comillas ha enviado una carta a las familias con difuntos enterrados en el cementerio viejo de la ciudad, de propiedad parroquial, pidiéndoles que abonen la cantidad de 2.300 euros para que sus familiares puedan continuar en sus sepulcros. Al menos así lo ha manifestado Mery Ruiz en su cuenta personal de Twitter. De lo contrario, los restos serán trasladaos a 'la huesera' o fosa común, lejos de los panteones familiares o sepulcros individuales de cada fallecido. Pero aquí no queda la cosa, ya que el sacerdote solicita, además, una cuota mensual de 14 euros en concepto de donación sin "recibos ni facturas de por medio", como apunta Ruiz. Lo curioso de todo esto es que las familias ya pagaron es su día para que sus difuntos pudieran "descansar en paz", lo que ha indignado a los vecinos con tumbas en el citado camposanto.
Sin embargo, Mery Ruiz añade que esta cantidad solo serviría para mantener a los familiares enterrados por otros 30 años, es decir, que pasado ese periodo, el párroco de la iglesia podría volver a reclamar un nuevo monto de dinero."En 30 años tendrán que volver a abonar esta cantidad o la que el cura de turno considere. Y no todas las familias pueden permitírselo ni todas las generaciones estarán dispuestas a pagar por un tatarabuelo al que ni conocieron", apunta la denunciante.
La queja está teniendo una gran repercusión en Twitter , donde otros usuarios han criticado duramente el "negocio" de la iglesia, al tiempo que comentan que esto ya ha ocurrido en otros cementerios como el de Castro Urdiales.
Hay que recordar que el Cementerio Gótico de Comillas es uno de los camposantos más bonitos de España, tanto por su historia como por las impresionantes esculturas y mausoleos que se encuentran en su interior. Todo un reclamo turístico de la localidad, ya que es considerado como un museo al aire libre donde se pueden encontrar lápidas y mausoleos bellísimas con más de un siglo de antigüedad.
Situado al norte de la localidad, el cementerio está enclavado en una colina muy próxima al mar desde donde se ven unas maravillosas vistas del litoral. Allí se puede apreciar la magnífica escultura del Ángel Exterminador, obra del escultor catalán Josep Llimona, que se ha convertido en todo un símbolo de la ciudad y que representa a Abadón, el Ángel del Abismo sin Fondo.
