Dedicated on June 15, 1996, this 13-foot-by-13-foot granite arch designed to represent the gateway to a Korean city is at Barrows Veterans Memorial Park in North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
The words "Korean War Memorial" appear along the front / north side of the cross member. The insignias of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard appeal horizontally below. The names of seven men who died in the conflict are engraved on the posts. To the left -- KIA: Robert H. Hill, Edmund H. Nichols and John C. Westcott -- and the right -- DIS: Vernon J. Darrah, Richard B. King, Raymond A. Tatro, and William A. Thorpe.
"Freedom is not Free" and a line in Korean are engraved along the back / south side of the cross member. The Prisoner of War - Missing in Action insignia is centered below the text.
