The current First Baptist Church replaces the original church built in 1818. The church was completed in June 1971 to replace the original church building built in 1818.
When the new church was constructed the congregation restored the original church bell put it on display in a landscaped area of the church grounds. The bell is displayed handing from the original yoke. The bell is inscribed:
