The Mall of the Emirates suffered a temporary power outage on Thursday night, according to a spokesperson for the mall.

"A temporary power outage occurred at the Mall of the Emirates tonight, due to a technical problem. The fault was resolved immediately and the mall operated as normal," according to a statement sent to the Khaleej Times newspaper .

"Precautionary measures were taken to ensure the safety of visitors and customers and to minimize disruption," the statement added.

During the incident, shoppers were asked to leave the mall. The power returned and the shopping center continued its operations.

"Many were the users in the Mall of the Emirates at the time the lights went out on Thursday night," said an employee of the center.
