The Pointe in Dubai is preparing to open the world's largest fountain.
'The Palm Fountain' , the latest waterfront attraction on The Palm Jumeirah , will attempt to break a Guinness World Records on Thursday 22 October during its inaugural launch, and the public is invited to witness the celebration.
Spread over 1,300 square meters of seawater, the fountain's super trigger will stand at a height of 105 meters and come alive with more than 3,000 LED lights.
Dubai's only multi -coloured fountain will feature 20 customized shows with five different displays taking place every day between 7pm and midnight. Each show will last three minutes and will take place every 30 minutes.
On launch day, guests of The Pointe are invited to enjoy a full day of festivities, with events and contests at The Pointe's restaurants and, starting at 4pm, a variety of live entertainment including multiple sessions DJs, dance shows, artists and fireworks.
The one-day event is open to the public by registration, and the first 5,000 patrons to arrive will receive a free LED wristband.
