Fonte integrada em vão pouco profundo, em arco pleno, com aduelas estreitas e compridas de formato regular. Parede fundeira revestida a azulejos brancos, com representação policroma, superiormente, e ao centro, da heráldica de Amarante, inferiormente com volutas fitomórficas. Sob este, adossa-se espaldar rectangular, enquadrado por pilastras, com almofadas em relevo, ladeadas por aletas e remate em cornija, sobre a qual se elevam, nos extremos, pináculos. Ao centro, em relevo, almofada rectangular com ângulos côncavos, apresentando inscrição. Na parte superior das pilastras localizam-se bicas tubulares. Inferiormente, a toda a largura e profundidade do vão, tanque rectangular, com bordo recto e saliente, com réguas metálicas para suporte de vasilhame. Face frontal com soco e lateralmente pequenas pilastras, precedida por degrau de granito.

Enquadramento Urbano, integrado em muro de aparelho regular de granito, que sustenta rampa de acesso à Igreja de São Domingos (v. PT011301330018), em cota superior, e à parte alta de Amarante. Localiza-se junto à fachada principal da igreja do convento de São Gonçalo, confrontando com o terreiro do convento.

Fountain integrated in a shallow span, in a full arch, with narrow and long staves of regular shape. Back wall covered with white tiles, with a polychrome representation, above, and in the center, with the heraldry of Amarante, below with phytomorphic volutes. Underneath it, there is a rectangular back, framed by pilasters, with cushions in relief, flanked by fins and finished in a cornice, on which, at the ends, pinnacles rise. In the center, in relief, rectangular cushion with concave angles, with an inscription. At the top of the pilasters are tubular spouts. Below, along the entire width and depth of the span, a rectangular tank, with a straight and protruding edge, with metal rulers to support the container. Front face with a basement and small pilasters on the side, preceded by a granite step.

Urban framing, integrated into a regular granite wall, which supports the access ramp to the Church of São Domingos (see PT011301330018), at a higher level, and to the upper part of Amarante. It is located next to the main facade of the church of the convent of São Gonçalo, facing the convent's terreiro.
