The sign was placed by the Strasbourg University (next to the Kirchsleger entrance) and reads:
"The Reichsunivesitat or the Devil's University
The Reichsunivesitat Strassburg was inaugurated on the 23 November 1941, occupying the place left vacant by the French university's withdrawal to Clermont-Ferrand. It was a war machine devoted to Nazi ideology. It presented itself as 'the great National Socialist German Reich's rampart against the decadent West' and claimed to be the 'National Socialist scientific design unit.' Most of its teachers were Nazi militants. It had considerable resources that were used to promote a regime of terror. The Faculity of Medicine was a theatre for crimial experiments on prisoners, in particular 86 Jews who were murdered to expand the anatomical collecations of Professor August Hirt (1898-1945). This univesity moved to Tubingen in 1944 and the disappeared with the collapse of Hitler's regime."
Worryfing to read and let us not forget.
