In 1937 moest een gedeelte van Het Park wijken voor de aanleg van de Tunneltraverse ten behoeve van de in aanbouw zijnde Maastunnel. Omdat men het kerkje koste wat het kost wilde behouden, werd het verrold en 170 meter verderop naast de ingang van het park neergezet.

In 1937, part of Het Park had to make way for the construction of the Tunneltraverse for the Maastunnel under construction. Because they wanted to keep the church at all costs, it was rolled over and placed 170 meters away next to the entrance of the park.
