Son nom provient certainement de "Paludellum" à cause des prairies, jadis marécageuses.
Ses habitants sont appelés les Palludéens. La population actuelle est estimée à 793 habitants.
Elle s'étend sur 4.200 hectares et est traversée par la route reliant Châteauroux à Tours.
La commune dépend de l'arrondissement de Châteauroux à 37 km, du canton de Buzançais et de la Communauté de Communes du Châtillonnais -en-Berry.

It is located on the escarpments of the Indre valley. It is an asset for the development of the Indre à Vélo.
Its name certainly comes from "Paludellum" because of the meadows, formerly marshy.
Its inhabitants are called the Palludéens. The current population is estimated at 793 inhabitants.
