The Bell UH-1 was the first turbine-powered helicopter to serve in the U.S. Military. While still in service, this chopper is probably best know for its role in Vietnam, where they operated as gunships, recon, medical evacuation, and search-and-rescue. Over 16,000 were built.

This rather battered example is on display on a tall pole. The helicopter carries no insignia or tail number, and there is no information on site to identify the model or unit.
