PLAQUE TEXT:
"JOSEPH WOLFOND

Joseph Wolfond was born in Kiev, Russia,
in 1904. He escaped at age 18 and made
his way to Guelph, Ontario, which was
his home until his death in 1978.

Joseph Wolfond loved this city and was
very active in its development. He was a
creative thinker and an innovative
builder, who spearheaded change with a
strong sense of civic responsibility,
commitment and pride.

He was a man of quick wit and great
humour. His word was his bond; humility
his trademark. He chose always to see the
good in others, and was known for his
many acts of kindness and generosity.

Through his generosity, this land was
dedicated as a park site to the citizens of
Guelph, so that they might further enjoy
this beautiful city. It is to the memory of
this most honourable man that the Joesph
Wolfond Memorial Park is dedicated."
