The Reeuwijkse plens are thirteen lakes between Bodegraven and Gouda, east of the village of Reeuwijk. They are separated from each other by narrow roads. The lakes all have a rectangular shape, in which the former allotment of the peat lands from the time of the 'Great Reclamation' can still be recognized. The total area is approximately 735 hectares.
Thousands of water birds (including beech swan, wigeon, gadwall and shoveler) Are located in the Reeuwijkse Plassen.
