This old threshing machine is on display in a field on the east side of Highway 77, a few miles south of Mulhall. The thresher is decorated with an American flag and appears to have most of its components. Alas, the equipment is behind a fence and can be viewed only from a distance.

While difficult to identify with precision at a distance, the steel wheels indicate that is 1940s or earlier. Threshing machines of this era often had add-on components that didn't come with the thresher itself. The grain weigher and feeder were both likely made by the Hart Carter Company of Peoria, Illinois. The "Farmer's Friend" wind stacker at the rear was also made by another company, the Indiana Manufacturing Company. The wind stacker saved quite a lot of labor in the field and also produced an impressive plume of chaff while at work.

As always, thanks to the Group Officers who provided lots of info on this one.
