The Abbotsford Air Show started in 1962 and quickly grew in popularity, becoming the biggest air show in Canada in 1965. The Abbotsford Airshow was officially called "Canada's National Airshow" in 1970, making it the first National Air Show in Canada. This was recognized at the time by Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau.

The cairn here was place to commemorate the event, it is made up of rocks from all over the world including the Matterhorn, London Bridge and Paris.
