This white-painted pillar is situated on the eastern side of Law Hill, a height that lies just to the east of Dollar in Clackmannanshire, Scotland.
The pillar is at 199 metres but is not the summit of the hill, which is a Scots pine covered hillock to the west. The hill itself, most steep on its southern side, is slightly separated from the Ochil Hills to the north by a small valley which contains a minor road.
The pillar is in good condition on the grassy hill, and views are most extensive towards the lowlands to the south.
STEEPNESS: One steepish pull up the hillside through the woods to the west, but otherwise manageable.
TERRAIN: Mostly tracks which can be muddy lower down, and then grassy pastureland on the hilltop.
ACCESSIBILITY: A popular walk from the Community Woodland Car Park to the west of around three-quarters of a mile via the actual summit.
NAVIGATION: The car parking of the Community Woodland area lies on the minor Upper Hillfoots road running north-east out of Dollar. From here the track (mostly unsignposted) heads eastwards before bearing south over a wooden footbridge to climb the hill up the western edge of a wood. A fenced in path then heads east to the tree covered hillock which marks the true summit of the hill. After climbing a fence on the east side of the wood, the white pillar is in view ahead along the grassy summit ridge.
DANGER: Fallen trees amidst the summit hillock. There may also be livestock in the pastureland of the hill.
