911 days after his appointment as town crier, it was on October 5, 2019, Julio Cuesta Domínguez has finally been able to pronounce his Proclamation of Holy Week in Seville this Sunday, April 3. So many years of pandemic have passed that left us without a proclamation and without steps in the streets, but the first step towards normality has already been taken at the Teatro de la Maestranza.
The act began with the sounds of the 'Corpus Christi' march by maestro Mario Uralde for the subsequent presentation of the town crier by the municipal delegate of Major Festivals, Juan Carlos Cabrera, who had words of thanks to the outgoing archbishop, Juan José Asenjo, and of memory for Pascual González, being applauded in both cases.

Thus, and after the chords of 'Amarguras' by the municipal symphonic band, at 12:38 p.m., Julio Cuesta's proclamation began asking to erase and start a new account after the pandemic: "the time of the new man has come, to close the door to relativism and open it to the truth and the good". From there, praise to the health and scientific community and a deep minute of silence for those who are no longer with us, endorsed with an Our Father and a Glory be prayed by all those present.

Proclamation of Holy Week in Seville 2022
Leaving aside the pandemic, there was time to claim the brotherhood heritage as identity heritage and then develop the backbone of his speech based on personal experiences: his unborn angel that accompanies him to the Chapel of the Pura and Clara del Postigo, his sorrow for not having been a bearer of Hope, Holy Week on the arm of his wife, that of the grandson who is still waiting in his mother's womb or, when in his mother's arms, as a child, he saw Triana's Hope. All this with a message, to conclude that "Christianity is freedom and hence so much persecution."

In his words, multiple invocations have continued to appear: El Cachorro, the one he has at the head of his bed, Montserrat, the humility of Santa Ángela de la Cruz and the Blessed María de la Purísima. And at the end, the bullfighter's compliment to his Virgen de la Caridad del Baratillo, the memory of his father when brave as no one accompanied the Star the year the Virgin was shot, the example of Hiniesta as tolerance, the dream before the Virgen del Rocío to be found in the marsh lands before the Blanca Paloma, the torrents of Esperanza through the Resolana to conclude that "the blood of Esperanza is Macarena in color" and, of course, the prayer to the Great Power in memory of their station in Tres Barrios.

To finish, a shout out to Seville, that we open our doors before the new Holy Week.
