"Near the watermill is an old washing place 'de Sprunck'. Sprunck means (water) jump, which means a spontaneous water source. The water is collected in the basin and it has an overflow to the Kwistbeek, where the water mill is located.
From the Middle Ages, this watering hole was used as a watering place for cattle, which had grazed in herds on the common meadows and floodplains of the river Maas and were driven back to the stable in the evening by the farmer."
