The small village of Strathkinness sits on a hill in north-east Fife, three miles to the west of St Andrews. The war memorial can be found near the centre on the corner of Main Street and Church Road and faces south-west. It was unveiled on July 24th 1921.
The granite memorial takes the form of a Celtic cross on a tapering shaft above a tapering plinth set on a red gravel surround. The inscription on the plinth reads as follows:
'TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919'
