Description

Le château de Wijnendale est un château à douves, situé dans la zone boisée de la forêt de Wijnendale dans le Houtland flamand occidental et le Brugse Ommeland, à 3 km de la ville de Torhout. Le château actuel est en grande partie une reconstruction du XIXe siècle. Une partie de l'aile nord est du XVe siècle. L'aile la plus ancienne du château est occupée par les propriétaires, l'autre aile est ouverte au public en tant que musée touristique.

Description

Wijnendale Castle is a moated castle, located in the wooded area of ??the Wijnendale Forest in the West Flemish Houtland and the Brugse Ommeland, 3 km from the city of Torhout. The current castle is largely a 19th-century reconstruction. Part of the north wing is 15th century. The oldest wing of the castle is occupied by the owners, the other wing is open to the public as a tourist museum.

Beschrijving

Het kasteel van Wijnendale is een waterburcht, gelegen in de bosrijke omgeving van het Wijnendalebos in het West-Vlaamse Houtland en het Brugse Ommeland, op 3 km van de stad Torhout. Het huidige kasteel is grotendeels een 19e-eeuwse reconstructie. Een deel van de noordelijke vleugel is 15e-eeuws. De oudste vleugel van het kasteel wordt bewoond door de eigenaren, de andere vleugel is als toeristisch museum publiek toegankelijk.
