These water mill parts are strewn around the grassy area by the parking lot of Wildlife Habitat #1 in San Marcos, TX. At the present time, I do not know the history of the mill or even what its name might have been, although I am doing some research to see if I can find any answers.

The bull gear and most of the remaining parts had been just laying around in the open for years, until a couple of months ago, when I saw them fencing that area off. The pinion gear is just around the corner to the right of the sidewalk before the bridge. Once on the bridge, you can look back and where they diverted the river for the mill.

The park is located at 700 Cheatham Street, San Marcos, TX. It is a great place to swim, tube, kayak, bike or jog. There are several parks in this area along the San Marcos, and in the summer, the parking lot by the coordinates is often full.
