A freestanding arch spans the central entrance to the Rising Sun Mills commercial and residential complex on Valley Street in Providence, Rhode Island. It stretches about 25 feet wide and reaches a height of about 15 feet. A nameplate and street number of individual letters and digits are attached to horizontal beams affixed to a pair of galvanized posts embedded in the sidewalk on either side of the access road. The golden and polished aluminum characters gleam intensely in the morning light of this east-facing structure.
