Hike or drive to the main flagpole at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, and you will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the cantonment area or "downtown."

From the base of John Paul Jones Hill, a left turn on a dirt road will take you a short distance to Tank Hill, where you'll find the water tower and flagpole visible from much of the "downtown" area of Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, as well as a circular turnaround point and a few abandoned bunkers.
While the view is not quite as expansive as the bird's eye view from on top of John Paul Jones Hill, this vista has two advantages: first, it's easier to get to; and second, unlike the summit of JPJ Hill, photography from Tank Hill is not illegal!
The view is especially nice just after sunset, as the lights are coming on.
