Civil War Veterans interred at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence, Rhode Island. Laying atop the grave of Sullivan D. Ames, Commander US Navy, is a full size anchor representing his military service of more than a decade on half a dozen vessels.
The granite stone resembles a sarcophagus with its sides angled inward to form a cross atop which is the metal anchor. The north and south facets adjacent to the long sections of the cross are engraved, respectively:
