The war memorial in the town of Carnoustie on the east coast of Scotland was first unveiled by the Earl of Strathmore on October 31st 1925 and is a curved wall topped by a Highland soldier on a square plinth. Four panels on the wall are inscribed with the names from WWI. A rest garden in front of the memorial to the south, between it and the main street was opened on June 7th 1926.

The WWII memorial was unveiled on November 6th 1949 by Mrs Annie Reid of Woodbine Cottage, who lost two sons. Mrs Helen Nicoll of Allanbank cut the ribbon, she was the wife of D. Duncan Nicoll of the town council who was lost in the war also.

The memorial takes the form of a plaque on the circular platform that is situated in front of the wall. The plaque contains the names of the 49 men who were lost:
