A Sparky statue in the plaza of the Convention Hall honors Chief Philip Clover, who dressed as Sparky many times for community outreach. It depicts the Chief, dressed as Sparky, and a little girl who was modeled after Philip's granddaughter.
The bronze sculpture is lifesize, as is the little girl he holds hands with. They are atop a circular foundation that has bricks around the 18" tall perimeter. At the base of the bronze statue are the firefighter symbol at the center, and around the clover shape are the words EMS, Fire, Hazmat, and Rescue.

Sparky the Fire Dog depicts the National Fire Protection Association official mascot and is dedicated to the memory of Chief Philip Clover. The statue features a clover on the back of Sparky’s leg and adorns a chief's badge to symbolize Chief Phillip Clover. The girl featured in the statue is modeled after one of Clover's granddaughters. The statue was purposely pointed towards the original site of Station 1. Chief Clover's children were in attendance during the dedication ceremony on March 14, 2014. Clover's daughter expressed her gratitude for the firefighters in attendance and thanked all the donors that made the statue possible.

Sparky was created for the National Fire Protection Association in 1951 and has been the organization's official mascot ever since. He is a widely recognized fire safety icon that is beloved by children and adults alike.
