This orientation table is on the northern edge of an area known as the pinewoods on the outskirts of Harrogate.

The Pinewoods is approximately 96 acres of semi-natural woodland between Valley Gardens public park and the Royal Horticultural Society Gardens at Harlow Carr.
The area has a number of public footpaths running through it and there is a free car park on Crag Lane at the south westerly end of the Pinewoods.
The table shows a photograph of the area in front of the table from the Pennines to the Hambleton Hills and names 18 points of interest. There is also a free set of powerful binoculars next to the board with a set of steps to provide a better view of the hills in the distance.
