The Isle du Bois and Johnson Branch Units of
Ray Roberts Lake State Park offer plenty of places where one can camp, hike, bike, go horseback riding, rollerblade, geocache, waymark, or go backpacking. On the water, swimming, boating, and fishing are options, or one can simply take in the scenery and relax. There are additional satellite units, like this one, where facilities are more limited: Buck Creek's main purpose is to provide parking and access to a boat ramp for boaters and fisherman. There's also a primitive pit toilet here, with no other amenities.
Placed by Texas Parks & Wildlife, this sign is a map of the park, showing all of the independent units, with Buck Creek in the upper right. A Legend identifies useful services and features, and some insets with helpful tips for boaters. There's also a warning about the zebra mussels that have invaded the lake, wreaking all sorts of havoc and forcing all of us to change the way we enjoy the water.
