A brand new historical marker in Edmond details the history of the Edmond Ice Company. The marker and building are located on W. 2nd Street, just west of the railroad tracks. The historic ice company building is part of a new development (The Ice House Project) that will include a creamery, coffee shop, brewery, urban garden, and outdoor venue.

1909 Hubert R. Hudson, President of Atoka RR, incorporated the Edmond Ice Company. Edwin L. Shelden was a stockholder and manager.

1910 The Ice Plant opened for business, able to produce 10 tons of "manufactured" ice each day.

1921 The Creamery and Ice Plant were built, selling Sheldon's Ice Cream and Golden Glow Butter.

1930 The Bottling Works was added, selling Smile soda and Shelden's Soda Water.

1944 The remaining property sold, including the Ice House and Creamery
