A Purlpe Beech, Fagus sylvatica purpuruem, donated in 2007 to Trelleborg from the Sister City Sassnitz. Trelleborg had its 750th anniversary in 2007, and the tree was given on that occasion.
The Purple Beech is planted in the City Park. Around the park you can find trees in several places that mark various events.
