Eddie New Home Cemetery is about five miles northeast of Lamont. In the southwest corner of the cemetery is a small open-air chapel and this monument, which is set in memory of A. L. and Juanita Smyth. The monument also gives some history of the cemetery. The memorial text is

This monument is in memory of A. L. (Monk) and Juanita Smyth for their generous donation to the Eddie New Home Cemetery Perpetual Fund and the cemetery improvements in 1895
