Live's first broadcast was in December 2005. They mainly play alternative rock with content from the 1980s through to the present. Typically the musical content diversifies on the weekends while the weekdays are almost entirely well-known hits.

Live runs many on- and off-air contests and they support several charities throughout the year.

They bill themselves on air as Canada's first carbon-neutral radio station.
